Look out, year 40 – here we come!
Duke Energy and The National Theatre for Children had yet another fantastic year presenting Kilowatt Kitchen and The E-Team for your schools. With a total of 1,745 performances at visits to 1,137 schools, all you energy-saving superstars helped us make a positive difference for the planet. We didn’t quite make it to our 10 million kilowatt-hour goal this time around, but together we still saved about 9.5 million kilowatt-hours! Thanks to each and every one of you for helping us shoot for the moon and stars, bringing our programming to your school and being such great hosts.
We never would have been able to carry out these accomplishments year after year without your support and amazing enthusiasm for educational theatre. With summer just around the corner, we also wanted to take this time to let you know about another exciting event on the calendar. NTC is celebrating its 40th anniversary! Since 1978, NTC has delivered free programs into schools across the country to educate future generations on how to make our world an even better place – and it has worked. Since our first tour, more than 30 million students have attended our shows and learned how to make a positive difference in their lives and communities. Thanks for being there with us every step of the way as we’ve reached this milestone!
So, what’s on the docket for next year and the big 4-0? Since we were so close to the 10 million kilowatt-hour goal this year, we decided to try for it once again with extra style. Get ready to mosey on over to the Old West with Showdown at Resource Ranch, and refine your energy-savviness with the improvisational masterminds of The Resource Force.
We’re also excited to announce that we’ll be piloting a brand new high school program with Duke Energy! Through comedic sketches, trivia and audience participation, What’s Your Goal? will teach students vital information about the environment, carbon footprints, the effects of energy usage, and how to raise your voice to make a change. Fall scheduling is underway, so if you haven’t already, get your school’s performance booked today at nationaltheatre.com or by calling The National Theatre for Children at 1-800-858-3999 ext. 1.
Let’s make our 40th year the best one yet!
